Student at the George Washington University, pursuing a dual degree in Journalism & Mass Communication and Political Science. Currently working as a general assignment intern at NBC News, preceded by my time at Meet the Press with Kristen Welker.

My work as a journalist revolves around people, and the stories they have to tell. Politics, culture and community are at the heart of the stories I write.

Temple Terrace gym owner from Hawaii lending a hand to victims in Maui fire

As of Aug. 17, at least 106 people have been confirmed dead on the Hawaiian island of Maui in the deadliest U.S. wildfire in more than a century.

Pasco County Libraries named ‘Library of the Year’ by Florida Library Association

Pasco County Libraries are the best of the best. That’s according to the Florida Library Association, which named Pasco County Libraries the 2023 Library of the Year.

The award’s criteria, chosen from a highly competitive group of nominees, include programming creativity and innovation, service expansion and enhancement, and programs emulated by other libraries. Pasco County Libraries have demonstrated excellence in each of these categories through the development of its popular “makerspaces,”

Last year, the Smithsonian Institute returned 29 Benin bronze statues to Nigeria. Do they really belong there?

In October of 2022, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art officially ceded ownership of 29 Benin bronzes to Nigeria, to be placed in the National Commission for Museums and Monuments. Almost immediately, the Restitution Study Group, a New York-based nonprofit dedicated to reparations and restitution from corporations complicit in the antebellum enslavement of Africans, filed a lawsuit claiming African Americans with Nigerian DNA have a right to ownership of the artifacts.
